Term 3 - Scratch Programming

Term 3- Scratch Programming Project

Statement of Inquiry
Computational Creation enables me to be creative
Introduction
In Term 3 we will be working on Scratch programming. This is creative computing and enables us to explore various sprites and commands in Scratch.
About Me
The scratch screen comes here.
You should also snip tool your codes for the particular screen created

Scratch Programming

Scratch programming is basically a program made by MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) students, made to help others learn how to script and program anything to move or do a certain command. So, during IT class, we made our own scratch program. My first Scratch program was me trying to make a city which would have an airplane flying over it with some commands. Furthermore, I learned many things I didn't know, as this was my first time using this program. For example, I learned how to script an object to do a certain function. I also learned how to make my own animation, as well as character, and scenery. In conclusion, I found this "Scratch Programming" program very useful, as a starter to help us the program and animate our own animations. It is also very good for new programmers to get inspired and create their own program animation. However, everything comes with Disadvantages. For example, this program is hard for people to figure out if they have had 0 experience when I come to programming. Another side, the not disadvantage is the lack of doing many things in this program. But, that's pretty much it. So, I really hope you enjoyed this post. I would definitely recommend you to use this program if you want to learn how to animate

My First Project

Scratch Project - term 3

Introduction

For this term, I have been asked to create a story using  Scratch Programming. The story should either create an  awareness of an environmental issue, a social issue or something that interests me.

Global Context

ATL Skills

Information Literacy

I will be using my research skills and understand programming codes and controls using the scratch program. I will be using scratch help from the menu bar as well as watch other videos on scratch programming codes enable me to complete the program. storyboard that website would enable me to create online storyboards to help create my design ideas.

Communication: I am going to communicate my passion for cricket. it is a very fun sport and is very easy to play. the project is going to be easy to play a because you use the arrow keys and bat against the other team.

Personal and Cultural Expression: my project relates to this because the whole thing is so personal and I am very passionate about the drums.

Criterion A - Inquiry and Analysis

My scratch will be my favorite passion which is called cricket. it is a very fun sport as you can play it with ease. I will start off like how a normal cricket match stats off; with a toss. then the team that wins will make a batting score and then after that the other team bats and wins or loses. then I will  change it to a drum background whit some of my favorite tracks that I will play drums on. After that, I will  be showing some people talking because I like when people introduce themselves and it is always fun to see awkward moments.  It may not be useful to society but I could create  awareness of my passions and maybe people could want to try these activities and may find a passion for these activities. I would make a storyboard plan out my plans and also have to make a plan on the storyboard by annotating, for how to create the sprites and what to use and also how they move and all the commands. I hope you will think that this is a good idea and I just hope this idea will be supported. My idea is I hope a good idea but I also know that working with this will be fun. I also like things like rounders and football and tennis and badminton and the sprites will move while working as though they are playing sports or the other thing like that.

Storyboard of my Scratch:

Reflection

So to finish it, I will be going to take the 2nd option as it is very easy to make but I will also do the first one as it might be a fun game I could try to make. The second one is much better to do as the drums I can play and I can also play the piano bit by bit. the thing is so fun to do that I can work on it with ease.

Side Project

Criterion C - The Final Scratch

Self-Evaluation

Reflection

I feel that the score is fair since two of my peers gave a 11 and 13. I have done really well in my scratch but i need room for improvement like make it better and make it enhanced and better. Experience working on scratch is great. I never knew this program before and it is very exciting and interesting and you can do a lot of stuff. One thing about the scratch that I did not do properly do is changing my costumes on my sprite. It would have been very cool for my sprites to have changed clothes and it would have enhanced my scratch program and made it better. I could have also made my conversations a bit better and maybe the commands could have also been a bit better and maybe searched more and make my project more elaborate.

Final Reflection

In the end I think that this project was really nice because we were supposed to do scratch videos and my first scratch video was about my passions and the thing which was really exciting was that i was supposed to make a story board and after doing the story we were supposed to do a scratch video about the story board and my story board was about my passions cricket and drums. I have played the games for a long time and have developed a passion for them. This was my favourite term and i can not believe how quickly this year went by. I love my IT teacher and she has given me a lot of information this year. I hope I learn just as much next year.

Evaluation for IT tech fair

This is my final tech fair reflection so i will be discussing different points about what I did in tech fair and what happened when we made it and what skills I used. I have been working with Christopher for my tech fair and we have been working really hard to come out with our final robot which I think is pretty cool.  The skills that I used were Thinker, Creativity, Risk-taker and collaboration. I needed all these skills because I and Christopher needed these skills to work very well together and work without any problems. Christopher and I sorted out our time very well because I got the materials all ready and then I came and built it with him and I also sorted out our blogs for us both in the meantime. I and Christopher didn’t choose one of us to be leaders because we knew we would have some issues so we chose just to both work and listen to each other instead of having one of us giving instructions. We overcome our problems by listening to each other and paying a lot of attention to what we did and what we both did. If I were too do the project again I would try and make something else then a robot and also make something more advanced now when I already know what the tech fair project is all about.

Peer Evaluation

Peer evaluation-each group

Rakan
A tank game
He has made a game where to players have to compete against each other where they try to kill each other in a tank. It is a 1 VS 1 game and it is 5 rounds. Each round gets darker and the light disapears in the last round. The game is an okay game as it is fun to play. Next time make something that maybe helps in some way or actually does something good. No, Rakan does not have a project worthy for tech fair. it is a third person game with birds eye view. it is only useful forentartainment

Yousief
AC unit box
It is a box that has to very strong and good fans one blows wind out of the box one blows wind in the box. It is environmentally friendly. It is powered by USB so it can be powered by many things. Maybe if you put in stronger fans. Yes, Yousief has a good tech fair project worthy of the proper fair

Timur
Quad-Copter    Air-Freshner
It is a helicopter that has a motherboard, bearing, propellers, motherboard holder, memory card, battery, root, chaises. He fiest brought all the items and then built it without any help. The air freshener works non stop. There is no inventions like this. It is a very good tech fair project.the orbees have a fragrance.

Hannah and Dominque
Tommy the triple purpose car. It is a car that can send messages, videos and important messages. Uses a phone, paper box, bobbi pins and LEGO. Used by children and people living next to each other. it records and also plays music and record videos on the go. It is a good idea for tech fair as there has been thought put into this

Jasmine and Francessca
Wall climbing car
The wall climbing car is a car that has a air vacumm attached to it. The car is very fun to play with and it comes with a race track which on the day of the tech fair they will try to make everybody play the game and if you work your way around the  racetrack in the fastest time will win a prize. The project was a very quick project as it requires only a remote control car and an air vacumm. No not a good idea to have for the tech fair.

Yahya and Azaan
The wheelie cyclone
They made a car that uses only lego and a NXT. They used sensors, motors and many orher things. The model itself is very cool and is very easy to use. As soon as it detects a line it will start moving. Uses a software so it can be programmed. Uses an ultrasonic sensor. The software is not cery hard but is not also easy.  Little kids use it. Slow but effective.  It moves in the line it can detect. They took a lot if time making it. it is useful for marketing and buisness sales. TheThey did alot of work. It is a good idea for the tech fair as they did it all by themselves without a guide on how to make.

Alex and Khanda
Movie experience
They are doing a projecter. The projecter. The projecter made of shoe box and magnifying glass. The phone is inside either the right way or upside down. It is helpful because not many people can afford a projecter and it is a cheap projecter. Many people use it. It is a good idea.

Armaan and Omar
Light and motion sensor
In the dark the LMS turns the light on and it works as an intruder alarm. Uses motion sensor, LED bulb, arduino, breadboard and they wrote a code which was on the internet. Is cheap and easy to learn and this is just the smaller version. It is beneficial for security, street lights. Their project is very confusing and took a good amount of time and it can be used very easily. It is a good idea.

Ban and Lina
Robotic arm
A robotic arm that is controlled by windows 7 and can be used for multiple reasons. It cannot be used by children under 10. Used four gear boxes, structered it, had a motherboard controlled by the laptop. There are two types of mode; basic and programming mode. The programming mode is when you code and basic mode is when you just see N, S, E, W on your computer and programming shows the code and it is a bit more advanced. They learnt about this through the internet and they learnt how to make gear boxes and how to program. Theirs is unique and is hard to code. It is beneficial to disabled people. It is a very good idea for the fair.

Jonas
A robot
It avoids obstacles. It can break easily and is not immune to water. It can turn on and avoids obstacles. Does not work just yet. Uses pliers, tube cutter, a piece of planks and soldering iron. It is a funky idea for the fair as it looks very funny.

Karim and Adam
Sphero
They made a rivit ball. They made the ball with wiring and everything. It needs to be connected to a device. It has a bottom where it charges and a camera at the top. It uses an engine at the bottom. It has disadvantages and advantages. The advantages being that it is fun and you can play it anywhere. The disadvantages being that without a ball it will be dismantled. It is useful for entertainment. I like the idea of the sphero.
